     ABSTRACT

This article reviews five alternative models of the Cuban revolutionary regime and their projections for the future.  Quite different predictions flow from (1) supporters; (2) very hostile opponents (counter-revolutionaries); (3) a scholarly range of critical supporters; (4) pro-engagement non-supporters; and (5) those transition models based on other Latin American or Eastern European countries.  A great deal of attention is paid to Przeworski's framework for transition to inclusion in an integrated global economy.
