ABSTRACT

This article reflects upon the experience of the author who conducted research in Cuba in 1993 and 1994, during the "Special Period." The joint research project involved community organizations from Pogolotti District, a suburb in the City of Havana, professors and students from the Center for the Study of Tropical Architecture, and the Environmental Psychology Ph.D. Program of the City University of New York (CUNY).
