   ABSTRACT

 

This article examines the impact of remittances on the economic development of the Trinidad and Tobago economy. The article starts by providing an extensive review of the theoretical and empirical literature regarding the various contributions of remittances to economic growth and the wider economic development process.   The article then provides some preliminary survey results regarding the use of remittances in Trinidad and Tobago.
